Dialogic優先發表業界第一台AdvancedTCA架構之多媒體處理平台
Dialogic Corporation Delivers Industry’s First Multimedia Processing Platform for AdvancedTCA* Architecture
Dialogic® Multimedia Platform for AdvancedTCA now available for high-density voice, video, wireless and wireline communication services
The platform integrates an extended implementation of Dialogic’s Host Media Processing (HMP) software with an AdvancedTCA single board computer that includes two Dual-Core Intel® Xeon® LV 2.0 GHz processors designed to boost multitasking computing power. An Advanced Mezzanine Card (AdvancedMC*) is used for echo cancellation and transcoding offload, which significantly enhances media processing performance, especially when low-bit-rate audio coders are required at high-density levels. This combination of media processing power, together with over 30 GB of hard disk storage, means the platform has the capacity to run applications locally on the same blade as an alternative to supporting them remotely over IP connections.
“Our customers are looking for a path to higher density media solutions that will allow them to deliver their unique application services into the demanding environment of carriers,” stated Jim Machi, Vice President of Marketing for Dialogic. The media platform not only realizes the scalability demanded in the Service Provider market but does so with leading price-performance. Machi explained: “By assigning processor-intensive operations to the mezzanine card we leave more power for host media processing. And because the core processing algorithms are hosted on the CPU, we have the flexibility to meet ever increasing functional, operational and mobility demands through software-only revisions.”
Dialogic’s early adopter customers are counting on that proposition. "We're seeing that service providers are demanding solutions that maximize reusability and offer investment protection,” stated YH Choe, Bridgetec’s Executive Vice President and COO. “Our customers in the carrier market segment now investing in IMS and BcN expect us to deliver a minimum of 4 years investment protection. They have learned the importance of this from past experience with new technologies.” Mr. Choe explained his choice of Dialogic’s multimedia platform for Bridetech’s carrier solutions: “Dialogic's solid level of commitment and demonstrated performance on hosted media processing products and its roadmap help us to win the designs."
Others agree that the Dialogic Multimedia Platform accelerates development of solutions for the carrier market. “We tested Dialogic’s AdvancedTCA product and found that it offers the necessary features we needed for 3G value added services and can expedite our service deployment,” said Wang Chun, CTO of Eastcom-BUPT.
